- Our pride and joy -
Dr Alfred Dippenaar is the passionate owner of WagNou Boerdery. Alfred is a born and bred Namibian, who grew up on a neighbouring farm, Eensaamheid (recently known as two separate farms Koffiebos and Sandkasteel).
Alfred started his farming adventure in 1987 when he and Jurgens Nel, his brother-in-law, bought Eensaamheid from Alfred’s parents, Hendrik and Hester Dippenaar. Since then Alfred’s farming activities expanded to Wagnou feed and fodder, grass production and irrigation.
Alfred went to Drimiopsis Primary School (which at that stage consisted of 50 scholars and 3 teachers) and matriculated from Windhoek High School in 1980. He furthered his studies and obtained 3 postgraduate degrees in dentistry. Apart from his farming activities, Alfred practices as an Orthodontist in Klerksdorp and Potchefstroom in the RSA. His profound research approach to all endeavours is applied to all farming activities, and he continuously willing the best outcome for all stakeholders involved.
Alfred is married to Elsche, his partner in every endeavour and loyal supporter.
Alfred and Elsche have 3 daughters, Elze ,and her husband Willem, Therine and her husband Louis and Amey and are richly blessed with 4 grandchildren, William and Joshua who are the new generation farm boys and Isabella and Meyer who lives in Cape Town.
WagNou Team
- Our greatest assets -
WagNou Boerdery’s people are our greatest asset. WagNou Boerdery functions as a team, abiding by the principle that “you can build a team; you can’t buy a team.”

Johan van der Merwe and his wife, Janie, and their children: Jano, Tiaan, and Leandie have been part of the WagNou Team since 2013. Johan grew up in Neudam Agricultural College where his dad was involved in the training programs of Farmers in Namibia.
Johan expanded his practical knowledge in the USA, Australia, and Namibia. Johan is responsible for the production of WagNou feeds as well as the newly established irrigation project on Okambekere. Janie is responsible for the personnel and their well-being.

Willem and Elze Leask, with their sons William and Joshua, joined the WagNou team in October 2020.
Willem is an electrical engineer by trade and worked in the alternative energy industry for 6 years. He specialized in both implementing and managing on-site projects throughout South Africa and Botswana. Willem is responsible for WagNou’s cattle, the infrastructure, new projects, and grass production.
Elze is the financial manager of the various WagNou Boerdery Farming companies. She is a Tax Specialist by trade and worked in the gas & oil industry for 8 years.
She specialized in data analysis, continuous improvement, and tax accounting for one of the oil & gas companies in South Africa. Knowledge and expertise that she put to good use to improve the financial management systems of the extended Wagnou Farming endeavors.
